In an effort to eliminate any 

awkward moments when we 

meet in person,

I wanted to give you a heads up. 

When we meet, I won't extend my hand.

As an Orthodox Jewish woman 

I refrain from all physical contact with men, 

other than close family.

So no- a hug doesn't work either!

As a religious custom, 

This is a sign of respect;

for the women in your life and the men in mine.
